Dr. Reza Sharif Razavian

I am an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at Northeastern University. I am a member of The Action Lab, working with Dr. Dagmar Sternad.

My research involves studying human movements to understand how we interact with and move through our environment.

Prior to joining the Action Lab, I was a postdoctoral research associate at Imperial College London, working with Dr. Angela Kedgley. At Imperial, I designed and manufactured a robotic system to articulate a cadaveric hand (hence called a hand simulator), for in vitro analysis of the human hand.

I am a mechanical engineer by training, and received my PhD from the Department of Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo. I was with Motion Research Group (MoRG), under the supervision of Dr. John McPhee. My PhD dissertation was on mathematical modeling of the human motor control system based on muscle synergies.
